Purchasing Manager

Location: Madison, WI

Job Summary
Support company operations through the efficient and cost effective buying of materials and services.

Job Responsibilities
• Implement new inventory management system.
• Evaluate and assess current processes and procedures.
• Create and manage purchase orders for materials.
• Source materials and negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers.
• Monitor and expedite purchase orders to ensure timely delivery.
• Maintain accurate records of purchase orders and inventory status.
• Coordinate with project teams to provide material information and support.
• Resolve issues with suppliers, including order errors and invoice discrepancies.
• Interface with both office and field staff to communicate material status and delivery updates.
• Establish and maintain relationships with vendors to ensure favorable pricing and service.
• Utilize purchasing and inventory software to manage inventory and interface with cost accounting.
• Stay updated on market trends and developments in materials and supply markets.

Qualifications

• Two-year technical or business degree or equivalent combination of knowledge and/or experience to include material purchasing and expediting and experience in or exposure to the construction industry.
• 5+ years of experience to include material purchasing and expediting and experience in or exposure to the plumbing or construction industry.
• Extensive and full suite of product knowledge related to Plumbing and Fire Protection
• Extensive Vendor/Supplier knowledge
• Solid understanding of purchasing techniques
• Experience using Sage 300 CRE
